Maurice Gibb, a member of the famed disco band the Bee Gees, died Sunday at a Miami Beach hospital. He was 53. 

Gibb's family said in a statement: 
"To our extended family friends and fans, with great sadness and sorrow we regretfully announce the passing of Maurice Gibb this morning, his love, enthusiasm and energy for life remain an inspiration to all of us. 
We will all deeply miss him."

According to New York (AP): After two years, PepsiCo Inc. has said goodbye to Britney Spears as its spokeswoman and replaced her with Beyonce Knowles of the R&B trio Destiny's Child. The 21-year-old is "a multitalented entertainer who has achieved tremendous success and popularity in both music and movies," says Dave Burwick, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Pepsi-Cola North America.
